It is a condition in which atria which is the upper chambers of your heart beat fast and disturb the normal rhythmic beating of heart.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of atrial flutter include:
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Dizziness
- Chest pain like angina
- Edema in lower extremities
Causes
It is cause by the abnormal electrical activity of the heart which is cause by the various disease.

Diagnosis
Your doctor may diagnose during routine checkup and listen the atrial flutter during the chest examination by stethoscope. Further confirm diagnosis occur by ECG and ultrasonography.
Treatment
Treatment include:
- Medicine which slow the heart beats
- Medicine to prevent the blood clotting like blood thinning medicine
- Catheter ablation to reduce the atrial flutter
