Bundle Branch Block
It is defined as the blockage of electrical impulse to go through your heart. There is difficulty is pumping function of heart. Blockage occur in right or left side of the heart.
Symptoms
Sometimes it does not cause any signs and symptoms. Two most common symptoms include:
- Feeling if faintness
- Dizziness or fainting
Causes
The Function of electrical impulse is to contract the heart and pumped the blood from the heart. Causes of left and right bundle blockage include:
- Hypertension
- Myocardial infarction
- Thickened of heart muscles
- Myocarditis
- Blood clot in lungs
- Congenital heart anomaly
- Pulmonary embolism
Complications
If left untreated it may cause the life-threatening complications include the complete blockage of upper or lower chambers of the heart. This can lead to the abnormal rhythms and then cardiac arrest.
Diagnosis
After taking medical history your doctor might recommend the following test to confirm the diagnosis:
- Echocardiogram to see the detailed image of your heart.
- ECG to check the electrical activity of your heart.
Treatment
Generally, people with mild signs and symptoms does not required any treatment but people with severe condition required medical attention include:
- Pacemaker implantation which provide normal electrical stimulus to your heart.
- Cardiac resynchronization therapy helps to contract the hearts chamber simultaneously to prevent any irregular rhythm.
