It is defined as the mental problem which is in between of cognitive decline of normal aging process and the serious decline of dementia. Memory loss, language problems and thinking impairment is the most common condition associated with this condition.
Symptoms

Causes
There is no specific cause of this disease sometimes other mental illness leads to this condition, studies show following cause may lead to this mental illness:
- Parkinson’s disease
- Abnormal accumulation of beta-amyloid protein
- Mild stroke
Diagnosis
This condition is diagnosis through certain mental function tests, to distinguish from other mental disease which include:
- Montreal cognitive assessment
- Nerve conduction test
- MRI to check the images of brain
- Neurological examination
Treatment
There is no specific treatment present for MCI yet but doctors studied on this disease to produce effective treatment for this mental illness. Following medications may help to reduce the signs and symptoms:
- Benzodiazepines
- Anticholinergics
- Opioids
- Proton pump inhibitors
- Anti-histamine
