Pectus Excavatum
Pectus excavatum is the birth defect in which breastbone is sunken into the chest. It causes deep dent in the chest.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms may include:
- Dizziness
- Chest pain
- Decrease exercise tolerance
- Heart murmur
- Fatigue
- Coughing
- Wheezing
- Respiratory infection
Causes
The exact cause of this condition is unknown but it may be assumed that it may be due to hereditary.

After taking history and chest examination your doctor might recommend the following tests:
- Exercise test
- Echocardiogram
- CT scan
- Chest x-ray
- Electrocardiogram
- Lung function test
