Seborrheic Keratosis
It is defined as the skin disease which is non-malignant. Older people are more prone to get this disease. They are usually black, brown, and light tan. Seborrheic keratosis is a benign condition, usually this condition does not required treatment.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of seborrheic keratosis include:
- Itching
- Round oval patch
- Color ranges from tan to black
- Raised scaly patches
Causes
The exact cause of this condition is still unknown but it may assume that genetic condition predisposes this disease.
Diagnosis
After taking history and conducting skin examination your doctor might recommend the skin biopsy to rule out the malignancy.
Treatment
Treatment options include:
- Curettage of skin lesion
- Cryosurgery to remove the seborrheic patches
- Electrocautery to scrap the patches
- Laser ablation
- Hydrogen peroxide lotion for skin
